About us
The brand behind the jacket.
Brand Story
Moujik is a small independent Belgian brand built around one hero product: a beautifully designed rainjacket for dogs - what the French call "un ciré", that iconic, effortlessly chic piece against the rain. Reimagined, from scratch, for dogs.
It started with a simple frustration. Barbara couldn't find a raincoat that actually fit Halston, her Cavalier King Charles. Everything on the market was too heavy, too bulky, never quite the right shape. So she made one herself.
Four years of design development followed. A custom-made fabric. A registered silhouette. Ten sizes, built around the actual morphology of dogs - from the smallest breeds to larger ones, including three dedicated Teckel sizes. Every centimetre considered. Every detail tested.
The result is a jacket that dogs actually wear comfortably, that covers them fully, and that brings them home dry. That was always the goal.
Founder Story
Barbara Butaye is the proud dog mum of Halston, a five-year-old Cavalier King Charles and the original inspiration behind Moujik.
Half French, Half Belgian - born and raised in Brussels, she studied Russian, Linguistics and Management and built a career spanning a decade in retail before creating Moujik as a solo venture. She is both founder and creative director, overseeing every detail of every product.

Belgian Connection
Designed in Belgium. Born in Brussels. The first collection was made entirely in Belgium by hand. For Drop 2, production has moved to ensure a qualitative product at a more accessible price point - without compromising a single design detail. The fabric, the fit, the silhouette: all remain exactly as intended.
Giving Back
For every jacket sold, Moujik donates €1 to the Fondation Stichting Prince Laurent - whose mission is to provide veterinary care to those in needs through their 7 clinics in Belgium.
